This year, the after party will be held at 'Toast' on Tynemouth Front Street. A ticket will include food and one drink. There is a limited number of places for the event.

If you have any questions at all, please get in touch.

In 2019 saw the addition of the "Stairs After-party" which increased charitable donations. We were pleased to beat 2018, raising over £5,000!

Covid 19 stopped the event in 2020 but we were pleased to return in 2021, matching the £5,000 raised in 2019.

The event was initiated to drive community spirit and raise charitable donations, whilst  celebrating the infamous stairs of King Edward's Bay.

A total of 2,249 loops were completed covering a staggering 898 miles and climbing 292,370 stairs. This gave a total elevation ran up the stairs of 213,655 feet.

We raised in excess of £3,000 in 2018.

Our charity

Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade

The Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade is a voluntary shore based coastal rescue service founded in 1864. The charity is a Declared Facility to HM Coastguard for Rope Rescue, Coastal Search and Rescue and one of the last remaining trained teams for Ship to Shore Breeches Buoy Rescue.

Operating from our Watch House Museum in Tynemouth on the North East coast of England, they work closely with all the emergency services including the local RNLI. In recent years the Brigade has averaged over 120 callouts a year and these range from monitoring and gathering information on broken down boats to recovering cliff casualties from our coastline.
